Floor Scrubber Plastic Top Tank Cover Mould and Moulding Service
Floor Scrubber Plastic Top Tank Cover Mould and Moulding Service | Renovator Appliances Ltd
Product Overview
Renovator Appliances Ltd. provides Floor Scrubber Plastic Top Tank Cover Mould and Moulding Service for manufacturing customized plastic top tank covers used in floor scrubbers, automatic scrubber dryers, commercial floor cleaning machines, and industrial cleaning equipment.
The top tank cover is designed to close and protect the upper section of a floor scrubber's water or recovery tank. Depending on the machine design, it can provide access to the tank, support or integrate with suction connections, drain or vent arrangements, handles, inspection openings, float mechanisms, seals, and other tank-related components.
The injection mould is developed according to the tank opening, cover dimensions, sealing arrangement, mounting method, gasket interface, hose connections, access requirements, and overall machine geometry. Precision plastic injection moulding supports consistent dimensions, proper cover fitment, structural rigidity, and repeatable assembly.

Manufacturing Process
1. Product Design & Development
The top tank cover is developed according to the tank opening, overall dimensions, required sealing arrangement, gasket location, mounting points, hose connections, vent openings, handle requirements, and available machine space. The cover's structural requirements and interaction with the tank are reviewed during development.
2. Plastic Mould Design
A precision injection mould is designed according to the cover geometry, wall thickness, ribs, bosses, clips, locating features, gasket grooves, openings, and mounting interfaces. Parting line, gate location, cooling channels, venting, draft angles, and ejection arrangement are considered to support consistent moulding.
3. Mould Manufacturing
The mould can be manufactured using suitable mould steel such as P20 Steel, H13 Steel, or S136 Steel, depending on production quantity, selected plastic grade, dimensional requirements, surface-finish requirements, and expected mould life. CNC machining, EDM where required, drilling, polishing, fitting, and mould assembly are carried out according to the approved design.
4. Injection Moulding
The selected thermoplastic material is heated and injected into the mould cavity under controlled processing conditions. Injection pressure, material temperature, cooling time, and cycle parameters are controlled according to the selected material and cover geometry.
Part wall thickness, shrinkage, warpage, and cooling are considered carefully for larger cover designs to maintain proper fitment with the tank.
5. Finishing & Assembly Preparation
After moulding, gates and excess material are removed where applicable. The cover is inspected for flash, sink marks, short shots, warpage, deformation, scratches, and other moulding defects. Gasket grooves, mounting areas, openings, and tank interfaces are prepared for assembly.
6. Quality Inspection
Finished top tank covers are inspected for overall dimensions, tank-opening fitment, sealing surfaces, mounting features, gasket interfaces, openings, surface quality, and compatibility with the intended floor scrubber tank assembly.
Raw Materials
| Material | Typical Use |
|---|---|
| PP | Lightweight tank covers with suitable moisture and chemical resistance |
| HDPE | Applications requiring suitable toughness and chemical resistance |
| ABS | Rigid covers requiring good surface appearance |
| HIPS | Selected economical enclosure and cover applications |
| PC+ABS | Applications requiring a balance of impact resistance and rigidity |
| PBT | Selected engineering applications requiring dimensional stability |
| Nylon / PA | Applications requiring higher mechanical strength |
| Glass-Filled Nylon | Reinforced cover designs requiring higher rigidity |
| Chemical-Resistant Engineering Plastic | Applications exposed to specific cleaning chemicals or demanding environments |
Material selection should consider water and moisture exposure, cleaning chemicals, detergents, mechanical loading, vibration, impact, temperature, UV exposure where applicable, and required surface appearance. The selected plastic grade should be validated against the actual cleaning solution and operating conditions.
Quality Control
Raw Material Inspection: Plastic grade, colour, and incoming material condition are checked.
Mould Inspection: Cavity, core, inserts, parting surfaces, cooling system, and ejection arrangement are inspected.
Dimensional Inspection: Overall cover dimensions, wall thickness, tank-opening dimensions, and critical features are measured.
Tank Fitment Inspection: The cover is checked against the specified tank opening and mating surfaces.
Sealing Surface Inspection: Gasket grooves, sealing surfaces, and cover-to-tank interfaces are checked for dimensional accuracy.
Mounting Feature Inspection: Screw posts, bosses, clips, tabs, locating features, and reinforcement areas are inspected.
Opening Inspection: Hose, vent, inspection, handle, and other specified openings are checked according to the approved design.
Visual Inspection: Parts are checked for flash, sink marks, short shots, warpage, weld lines, scratches, deformation, and other moulding defects.
Assembly Inspection: Cover, gasket, tank, hoses, and other mating components are checked for proper integration.
Packaging Inspection: Finished covers are packed appropriately to reduce scratches, deformation, contamination, and handling damage.
