Set Top Box Plastic Rubber Foot Mould and Moulding Service
Set Top Box Plastic Rubber Foot Mould and Moulding Service | Renovator Appliances Ltd
Product Overview
Set Top Box Plastic Rubber Foot Mould and Moulding Service is designed for manufacturing foot components used at the bottom of digital set top boxes, DTH receivers, cable TV receivers, IPTV devices, and other compact electronic equipment. The rubber foot helps provide stability, maintain clearance between the appliance and supporting surface, reduce direct contact with the surface, and can help minimize sliding or movement during normal use.
Depending on the product design, the foot can be developed as a flexible rubber or elastomer component, a rigid plastic foot with an elastomer contact surface, or another suitable non-slip design. The geometry can include locating pins, retaining lips, grooves, mounting bosses, push-fit features, or adhesive-contact surfaces according to the set top box base design.
Moulding enables consistent dimensions, repeatable fitment, controlled flexibility, and uniform contact geometry suitable for OEM and bulk production requirements.

Manufacturing Process
1. Product Design & Development
The rubber foot is developed according to the set top box base dimensions, mounting location, required height, contact area, retention method, appliance weight, and supporting surface. CAD drawings, 3D models, samples, or technical specifications can be used for development.
2. Rubber / Elastomer Mould Design
The mould is designed according to the required foot geometry, material flexibility, hardness, mounting features, retention profile, and contact surface. Cavity layout, parting line, material flow, venting, and demoulding requirements are considered during mould development.
3. Mould Manufacturing
The mould can be manufactured using suitable mould steel such as P20 Steel, H13 Steel, or S136 Steel, depending on the selected elastomer, production quantity, surface requirements, and expected mould life. Precision machining, fitting, polishing, and mould trials are carried out before production.
4. Rubber / Elastomer Moulding
The selected rubber or elastomer material is processed and moulded under controlled temperature, pressure, and curing or forming conditions appropriate to the material. Processing parameters are adjusted according to the material grade and component geometry.
5. Finishing & Assembly Preparation
After moulding, excess flash or unwanted material is removed. The feet are inspected for surface defects, dimensional consistency, deformation, incomplete filling, and proper formation of mounting or retention features.
6. Quality Inspection
Finished feet are checked for dimensions, hardness or flexibility where specified, mounting fitment, contact geometry, surface quality, retention, and compatibility with the set top box base assembly.
Raw Materials
| Material | Suitable Characteristics |
|---|---|
| TPE | Flexible material suitable for non-slip and cushioning applications |
| TPU | Good flexibility, abrasion resistance, and mechanical durability |
| EPDM | Suitable for selected flexible foot and environmental applications |
| Silicone Rubber | Flexible material option for selected temperature and surface-contact requirements |
| Flexible PVC | Can be considered for selected flexible support applications |
| Rubber Compound | Customized rubber formulations can be considered according to required hardness and performance |
| PP | Suitable for rigid plastic foot structures where required |
| ABS | Suitable for rigid plastic support components |
| Nylon | Can be considered for structurally loaded rigid foot designs |
| Glass-Filled Nylon | Suitable where enhanced rigidity is required |
Material selection should be based on required hardness, flexibility, grip, abrasion resistance, appliance weight, surface type, temperature, environmental exposure, and mounting method.
Quality Control
Raw Material Inspection: Material grade, hardness, colour, and batch consistency are checked before production.
Mould Inspection: Cavity condition, mould alignment, venting, parting line, and demoulding features are inspected.
Dimensional Inspection: Overall height, diameter, thickness, mounting features, and contact dimensions are measured.
Hardness Inspection: Rubber or elastomer hardness can be checked against the specified requirement where applicable.
Fitment Inspection: The foot is checked against the set top box base mounting location.
Retention Inspection: Push-fit, groove, lip, locating pin, or other mechanical retention features are checked.
Surface Inspection: Flash, air marks, incomplete filling, cracks, deformation, and other visible defects are inspected.
Contact Inspection: The bottom contact surface is checked for proper formation and uniformity.
Stability Inspection: The assembled foot arrangement can be evaluated for proper support and surface contact.
Packaging Inspection: Finished components are protected against deformation, contamination, and surface damage during handling and transportation.
