Steam Iron Plastic Filter Mould and Moulding Service
Steam Iron Plastic Filter Mould and Moulding Service
Product Overview
Steam Iron Plastic Filter Mould and Moulding Service is used for manufacturing precision plastic filter components designed for steam irons. The filter component helps prevent impurities, mineral particles, scale deposits, or other contaminants from entering sensitive parts of the water and steam system, depending on the specific iron design.
The filter can be manufactured according to specific filter dimensions, filtration-area geometry, mesh or filter-media interface, water-flow passage, mounting arrangement, sealing features, wall thickness, material, colour, and steam iron design using precision plastic injection moulding.
Key Features
Precision-moulded plastic filter component
Designed for steam iron water systems
Supports controlled water flow
Customized filter-media or mesh interface
Accurate water passage geometry
Secure mounting arrangement
Sealing-feature options
Water-resistant material options
Good dimensional stability
Suitable for high-volume production
Industrial Applications
Steam Iron Plastic Filters are used in:
Household steam irons
Steam ironing appliances
Garment-care appliances
Water filtration assemblies
Water inlet systems
Steam-generation systems
Water-management mechanisms
Scale-control assemblies
Professional ironing equipment
Home electrical appliances
Manufacturing Process
The Steam Iron Plastic Filter is manufactured using the plastic injection moulding process. Selected plastic granules are fed into an injection moulding machine and heated to the required processing temperature.
The molten plastic is injected into a precision-engineered mould cavity containing the required filter housing profile, water passages, mounting features, and sealing geometry. Controlled cooling allows the plastic to solidify into the required shape.
If the filter design incorporates a separate mesh or filter medium, the moulded plastic component can be designed to securely retain that element according to the required assembly method.
After cooling, the mould opens and the finished filter component is ejected. The moulded component is inspected for overall dimensions, water passages, mounting accuracy, filter-media retention, sealing surfaces, surface finish, flash, sink marks, and warpage.
Mould Manufacturing Process
The mould is designed according to the required product drawing or 3D CAD model. Particular attention is given to the filter profile, water passages, filter-media interface, mesh-retention features, mounting points, sealing surfaces, wall thickness, draft angles, parting line, cooling channels, and ejection mechanism.
Suitable mould steel such as P20, H13, or S136 can be selected according to production volume, component complexity, mould life, and required surface finish.
Mould components are manufactured using CNC machining, EDM, precision drilling, grinding, polishing, and precision fitting. After mould assembly, trial moulding is performed to verify filling, cooling, ejection, dimensions, water passage, filter-media fit, sealing interface, surface appearance, and assembly compatibility.
Raw Materials
Suitable materials may include:
PP
PBT
PA66 Nylon
POM
ABS
PC
HDPE
PC/ABS
Heat-resistant engineering plastics
Water-resistant plastic grades
Flame-retardant grades where required
Material selection depends on water contact, temperature exposure, chemical resistance, dimensional stability, mechanical strength, and filtration-system requirements.
Quality Control
The Filter can be inspected for:
Overall dimensions
Water passage dimensions
Filter-media interface
Mesh retention
Mounting dimensions
Sealing-surface accuracy
Wall thickness
Product weight
Water-flow performance
Surface finish
Flash and burrs
Warpage
Cracks and sink marks
Assembly compatibility
Production Capacity
Production capacity depends on mould cavity count, injection moulding machine capacity, product weight, cycle time, cooling time, plastic material, and machine operating efficiency.
For example, an 8-cavity mould operating with a 20-second cycle time can theoretically produce approximately 1,440 pieces per hour, before accounting for downtime, inspection, material changes, and other production losses.
Actual production capacity depends on the final filter design, mould configuration, machine specifications, material, and operating conditions.
Buyer Guide
When ordering a Steam Iron Plastic Filter Mould and Moulding Service, buyers should provide the product drawing or 3D CAD model, filter dimensions, water-flow requirements, filtration specification, mesh or filter-media details, mounting arrangement, sealing requirements, operating temperature, plastic material, colour, surface finish, expected production quantity, and assembly specifications.
If a separate filter medium is required, buyers should also specify the mesh size, filter-media material, filtration level, retention method, and required water-flow rate.
These details help determine the appropriate mould design, mould steel, cavity configuration, plastic material, and injection moulding machine.
