X-Ray Machine Plastic Detector Panel Side Frame Mould and Moulding Service
X-Ray Machine Plastic Detector Panel Side Frame Mould and Moulding Service | Renovator Appliances Ltd
Product Overview
Renovator Appliances Ltd manufactures X-Ray Machine Plastic Detector Panel Side Frames using precision Plastic Injection Moulding and customized mould manufacturing processes. The detector panel side frame is a structural plastic component positioned along the side of an X-ray detector panel assembly. It provides edge protection, supports the front and rear enclosure sections, maintains panel alignment, and can incorporate mounting, locating, connector, handle, or accessory interfaces according to the detector design.
The side frame is developed according to the overall detector-panel dimensions, front and back cover profiles, internal detector components, mounting structure, connector locations, cable routing, and required edge clearances. Accurate moulding helps maintain consistent frame geometry, straightness, mating dimensions, and reliable assembly with the complete detector panel.
Customized features such as screw bosses, locating ribs, snap-fits, clips, handle interfaces, connector clearances, cable passages, reinforcement ribs, and protective edge profiles can be incorporated according to the application.
The plastic side frame should not be assumed to provide radiation shielding unless its material, thickness, geometry, and complete assembly have been specifically engineered, tested, and validated for that function.

Manufacturing Process
1. Product Design & Development
The side frame is developed according to the complete detector panel assembly. Key parameters include frame length and profile, front and rear cover mating geometry, detector-panel edge clearance, mounting locations, locating features, internal component clearance, connector positions, cable routing, and accessory or handle interfaces where applicable.
Special attention is given to frame straightness, wall thickness, ribs, and fastening areas to maintain dimensional stability and prevent interference with the detector assembly.
2. Plastic Mould Design
The injection mould is designed to reproduce the side-frame profile, mounting bosses, locating ribs, fastening features, connector clearances, cable passages, and front/rear housing interfaces accurately.
Parting-line placement, gate position, draft angles, cooling channels, ejector arrangement, and shrinkage allowance are optimized according to the frame geometry. Long or narrow frame sections are carefully considered to minimize warpage, shrinkage, and dimensional variation.
3. Mould Manufacturing
The mould is manufactured using precision machining, EDM, polishing, fitting, and mould assembly processes. P20, H13, S136, or another suitable mould steel can be selected according to production quantity, plastic material, surface-finish requirements, and required mould life.
Critical frame dimensions, mounting features, locating interfaces, and mating surfaces are inspected before mould trials.
4. Injection Moulding
The selected plastic material is injection moulded under controlled processing conditions. Injection pressure, speed, melt temperature, holding pressure, cooling time, and cycle parameters are adjusted according to the selected material and side-frame geometry.
Controlled processing helps maintain frame straightness, dimensional stability, mounting accuracy, surface quality, and consistent fitment with the detector panel.
5. Finishing & Assembly Preparation
After moulding, gates, runners, flash, and excess material are removed. Mounting holes, bosses, locating features, connector clearances, cable passages, and mating edges are checked for obstruction or moulding defects.
Where required, the side frame can be prepared for handles, labels, protective trim interfaces, connectors, fasteners, or other detector-panel assembly operations.
6. Quality Inspection
Finished side frames are inspected for overall length and profile, straightness, mounting-hole positions, boss dimensions, locating features, front/rear cover interfaces, internal clearances, wall thickness, warpage, surface finish, and flash.
Trial assembly with the detector panel, front cover, back cover, and internal components can be performed to verify accurate fitment and alignment.
Raw Materials
| Material / Component | Typical Selection Consideration |
|---|---|
| ABS | Suitable for rigid structural enclosure components |
| PC+ABS | Considered where improved impact resistance and dimensional stability are required |
| PC | Suitable where higher impact performance and dimensional stability are required |
| PBT | Considered where dimensional stability and mechanical performance are important |
| Flame-Retardant ABS | Used where specified flame-retardant properties are required |
| Flame-Retardant PC+ABS | Considered where specified flame-retardant and mechanical properties are required |
| Engineering Plastic | Selected according to mechanical, thermal, dimensional, and equipment requirements |
| P20 Steel | Suitable for general-purpose production moulds |
| H13 Steel | Suitable for demanding production conditions |

Providing the complete detector panel housing helps establish accurate interfaces between the side frame, front cover, back cover, internal detector assembly, connectors, and accessory components.
The plastic side frame should not be treated as a radiation-shielding component unless its material, thickness, geometry, and complete assembly have been specifically engineered and validated for that function. Final medical-equipment validation should address applicable mechanical, electrical, thermal, imaging, radiation-safety, and regulatory requirements.
